The Kuwaiti government places considerable value on the country's heritage and therefore much emphasis is placed on museums and cultural foundations. When the National Museum's treasures of Islamic art were lost in the occupation of 1991, the collection in the Taraq Rajab Museum became all the more important.

Sadu House is both museum and cultural foundation, housing Bedouin arts and crafts such as weaving as well as selling Bedouin items. In addition to its artifacts, the building itself is of particular interest for its construction in gypsum and coral and the ornate carvings that line the courtyard.
